Murals create the illusion which allows us to escape from an increasingly uniform environment to something very private and unique

The design and painting of a mural is a challenging process which involves both the client and the artist. The client's thoughts are paramount from the very start of the creative process and there is great opportunity to express our thoughts, dreams and our personalities.

Painting for commercial projects is an exciting challenge and working with floor plans, incorporating colour schemes and other strong design motifs is an essential part of that.
I always look forward to exploring a new brief, developing ideas and presenting concepts and sketches.

Simply put, a mural is the decoration of a wall, designed for a specific site and incorporated into the architecture. Unlike an easel painting, a mural's composition is influenced by its surroundings.
Mural painting gives the illusion of imaginary perspective, breaking down the flatness of the wall. Trompe l'oeil, the French for 'trick the eye', has been used throughout history to amuse and to enhance architecture. By the use of perspective, light and realistic colours, an object appears real and three dimensional.
